Anime Background Painting Tutorial of Small Plant


Here is a really cool beginner background painting tutorial of a very simple small plant using only four colors. If you checkout the Youtube channel there is actually a video before this one on how to draw this plant first.

For this tutorial I ordered Japanese background paints from Nicker and had it shipped to the U.S. Thanks Nicker for the beautiful paints! I love them. Very exciting to use the very same paints used in some of my favorite anime.

Accidentally used the wrong color choices. Such as using a dark green for the shadow instead of black. The middle green should be the dark green. Didn't even notice until I was done. So I did a second one using the correct colors.

I've set out to learn CGI animation. The hyper realism of today is too advanced for a complete beginner like myself. So I'm starting with low polygon work. I grew up playing Playstation One video games, so that is what I am studying. I never owned an N64, but I am also studying that as well. Japanese Background Painting Tutorial - Digital Basics

These are my studies from tutorials I found on Youtube by a Japanese animation background painter. The name of the channel translates to Background Lab. These are the basics of the digital. It shows in one video how learning these basic shapes applies to more complex forms.
